CQ Rural Traders is a locally owned and operated independent small business based in Emerald that services the Central Highlands, Isaac Region, and online customers.

At CQ Rural Traders we are committed to supporting our local community from our growers, graziers, pet owners, horse lovers and at home gardeners with all their farming and merchandise needs. We pride ourselves on the extensive range of quality products and services that we offer.

MEET THE TEAM

Sam Doust

Sam has been involved in the ag and rural merchandise industry his entire life. Working with pigs at the age of 13, he then moved on to beef production and merchandise. By 19 years of age, he was manager of a rural merchandise business, and purchased shares in one at age 23.

Sam loves serving and helping his rural clients. Being involved in a business that has let him travel QLD, has opened his eyes to the potential and enjoyment the rural industry has to offer not to mention the great people!

Cassie Turner

Cassie has a passion for food and fibre production having grown up on hobby farm in Dalby, Queensland which led her to study a Bachelor of Agriculture and a Bachelor of Business.

Cassie worked as an Agronomist in Emerald for 3 years, assisting growers in the Central Highlands and Isaac Regions with all their cropping needs.

Cassie has also held roles in Economic Development focussing on the Agribusiness sector as well as advocating for careers in Agriculture.

Cassie loves life in the Central Highlands and is very passionate about supporting our local growers, graziers and community.

Maddie Caban

CQ Rural Traders is delighted to welcome Maddie to the team!

Maddie is a local to Emerald having grown up in the Central Highlands town.

Maddie has a love for all things equine and competes in the sport of professional rodeo in Barrel Racing and Breakway Roping. She excels in this sport and has won numerous titles over the years.

Maddie brings with her a wealth of knowledge in equine health and loves helping customers with all their horse needs.

Aleisha O’Dell

Equine Dental Technician

Local to Emerald, Aleisha O’Dell brings with her to the CQ Rural Traders team a wealth of knowledge in equine health and nutrition.

Aleisha’s knowledge base extends into Equine Dentistry and PEMF Therapy as she believes in helping horses in as many ways as possible which includes maintaining their health and wellbeing through these practices.

Aleisha is more than willing to assist our horse community with all their equine feed, nutrition and supplementary questions.
